A tenant of Josef Fritzl, the Austrian man accused of using his daughter as a sex slave, is offering tourists a chance to stay in his apartment.

Anton Kraushofer hopes to get about $1,000 a night and has put the apartment on eBay, The Sun reports. Kraushofer told the British tabloid he got the idea after learning hotels in Sankt Polten, where Fritzl is to be tried, are already fully reserved for the five-day proceedings.

The building, which includes seven apartments, a pizzeria and a shoe store, is also up for sale. Fritzl was declared bankrupt Monday.

Fritzl kept his daughter in a dungeon under his home in Amstetten for more than 20 years and fathered seven children with her. One boy died, and Fritzl is charged with killing the child by failing to get medical treatment.

According to Kraushofer, Fritzl was in his apartment many times, often to do maintenance work. He said: “He was a neat, completely normal looking pensioner — always friendly and kind. He probably was a bit wealthy because he was driving a Mercedes.”

On Jan. 27 a judge will announce the fate of a 93-year-old Quebec man who has been found guilty of incest. Philippe Hamelin appeared in court yesterday for a sentencing hearing in Montreal.

The case is complicated because of Mr. Hamelin’s advanced age and myriad health problems. His lawyer argued that sentencing him to prison time is tantamount to a death sentence.

The Health Department has also confirmed it sent two other complaints of alleged sexual abuse of a patient by other patients to police and one was investigated and dismissed. The other is still being investigated.

But Crown prosecutor France Duhamel said the jurisprudence is clear and Mr. Hamelin should be sentenced to between seven and nine years behind bars.

The feelings of shame and self-hatred that survivors can have may lead to their feeling uncomfortable with and/or hatred toward women and lesbians includes:

1. Inadequate and bad about themselves.

2. Confused and ashamed about being women.

3. Uncomfortable with their sexuality.

4. Engaging in self-injurious behavior (particularly in the genital and breast area).

5. Developing an eating disorder; experiencing body shame; and having difficulties in relationships, particularly with other women.

It is crucial for survivors of mother-daughter sexual abuse to create boundaries with their mothers (physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual); to re-claim their bodies as their own, and to truly know the differences between themselves and their mothers.

The more a survivor identifies with her mother, the harder it is to separate her identity from her abuser – a crucial step in healing.

Many survivors of mother-daughter incest report looking in the mirror and seeing their mothers, and hating themselves for it.

When they see their own body naked (which they may avoid doing), many survivors see their mother’s body, and as a result feel deeply ashamed of and angry at their bodies.

Some survivors respond to these feelings by not wanting to be women, or lesbian (as they may perceive their mother to be), or anything associated with women or lesbians.

Elisabeth Fritzl, the survivor of the shocking Austrian incest, and her six children have moved out of the clinic where they have lived since escaping from her 24-year captivity and rape by her own father.

The family was now living in a home of its own, lawyer Christoph Herbst said, refusing to give any more details.

Elisabeth Fritzl, now 42, was raped repeatedly in a cellar by her father Josef Fritzl,  bearing seven children by him.

One died shortly after birth, while three were taken to live with Josef Fritzl and his wife.

The other three remained in the cellar with their mother all their lives, never seeing daylight, until one of them had to be taken to hospital in April, exposing the whole scandal.

The family was later reunited at the clinic in Amstetten-Mauer, where it received medical care and was protected from the media.

Josef Fritzl, 73, has been charged with murder, rape, sequestration, incest, grievous assault and slavery. His trial is expected to begin in March.
