Private Incest

One of my readers, Jim, commented in a couple of my blog posts about incest in Japan. I feel it is very interesting and shouldn’t be languishing in the comments section.

To be frank, I wasn’t that well-versed about Japanese incest topics, thankfully, he was able to shed some light. Here is what he says:

My wife, who is Japanese, told me that in Japan incest between mother and son is becoming very prevalent. She told me she has heard reports that up to 40 percent of males report having sex with their mothers.
It has to do with the pressure for the boys to get into a good school and fathers always being way working.
The mothers feel lonely and do not want their sons going out and not studying. So many mothers have started solving both situations by having sex with their sons.

He also provided an excerpt from the Journal of Psychohistory, Vol 34(3), Win 2007. pp. 178-207 to prove that incest in Japan is implicitly allowed so long as it is consensual. How we wish other countries could be as open-minded.

The sexual abuse of children in contemporary Japanese families

Japanese society is inundated with fantasies of incest…, yet information on the sexual abuse of children in the home is scarce. “at the start of the 2000s,” Japanese law “[did] not recognize incest (kinshin sokan) as a crime…unless rape or indecent assault ha[d] taken place (a difficult thing to prove) and the victim [was] prepared to press charges (which is very hard for them to do).” Thus, it would appear that “consensual” incest, … was sanctioned by the legal system. Furthermore…Japanese law stood mute regarding sexual activity with boys…..

It is a great feeling to share our incest knowledge or experience and that is something which I encourage my readers to do in this blog. Definitely, this Japan incest topic is worth exploring further…
